Starting from around £899 excluding VAT, the HP Pavilion HPE h9-1120t pushes the "budget" part of the Budget PC category, but that doesn't mean it's not an excellent deal. This desktop has tons of great higher-end features - including multiple USB 3.0 ports and a 2TB hard drive, plus a fast graphics card with 2GB of frame buffer - all at a decent, if not dirt-cheap, price.

The Acer AX1930-UR10P is a bit of a bore: Its Sandy Bridge-based speed is the only element we truly enjoy on this desktop, as the rest of what Acer brings to the table is unexciting - even when we factor in the typical constraints of budget desktops.

My, how far Budget desktops have come. While Lenovo's orange-accented H330 is definitely "budget" - it starts at just £399.99 - it packs some impressive specs, including an i5 processor, a Blu-ray disc drive, and a 1TB hard drive. Plus, it performs like a lower-end non-budget desktop.

Dell manages to pack in most of the features that one would want in a home/office desktop into the Inspiron 620s. While we would have liked to see a few more features in this desktop, such as USB 3.0, it is still a good choice for meeting your home/office computing needs.
