MOM 2005 is worthwhile if you have Windows servers that need close monitoring and if you have a separate tool for monitoring switches, routers and non-Windows servers.

Pros:

Excellent, detailed monitoring of Windows Server operating system and application instances.

Cons:

Used more bandwidth than we expected; Windows-centric; not useful for monitoring switches and routers.
