Samsung Optical Smart Hub review

It's a DVD burner! It's a Wi-Fi hotspot! It's a media streamer! Wrapping your mind around the Samsung Optical Smart Hub - a unique storage and streaming product with a singularly unintuitive name, a perplexing appearance, and several very specific uses - is rather challenging. Ultimately the Optical Smart Hub presents an intriguing concept for making use of optical discs in a mobile world, but it stumbles in its design and presentation.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Q180 review

Lenovo goes ultrasmall with its latest nettop, the Lenovo IdeaCentre Q180. This compact PC's optional optical drive is detachable too, just in case you need its footprint to be even smaller. Unfortunately, tiny, space-saving PCs often come with less-impressive specs and performance, and the Q180 is no different, as this Intel Atom-based machine scored very low on our benchmark tests.

Panasonic DMP-BDT210 Blu-ray player review

The Panasonic DMP-BDT210 has almost everything you could want in a Blu-ray player. It sends great-looking images to an HDTV - in 2D and in 3D. It has a huge selection of streaming Internet services built in, with more on the way. It can play media files off SD Cards, as well as off flash drives or a local network. LG WH08LS20 Blu-ray Burner

Blu-ray is on the road to becoming mainstream, if LG's WH08LS20 internal SATA-interface burner is any indication. My experience with it was sublime; the drive functioned smoothly, and came with all the software I needed to burn any disc I wanted, including Blu-ray Discs, DVDs, and CDs.
